We believe in hard work, passion, and a love for hair.

Launched in December 2017, Tribe Hair Company is founded by master stylists, Jessica Mingledorff and Catie McWhirter.

With more than 30 years of combined experience, we founded Tribe on hard work, passion, and a love for hair.

We believe in learning, growing, educating, and giving each person who sits in our chair the confidence to change the world.

We are proud stylists, continuing to build upon our stellar reputations and accomplishments in the industry. As salon owners, we are taking our love for hair care on a new journey.

Tribe Hair Company is located in Athens, GA. Tribe is a stone’s throw from downtown. Find us on Prince Avenue across from Piedmont Hospital.

Jessica Mingledorff

Doing hair is the best job in the world.

I love the connection I get to have and the relationships I build with my clients. To teach someone how to style their hair that will add ease and confidence to their day or suggest a color change that will enhance their skin and eyes and make them feel beautiful.

I love that this is a skill I will continue to grow through education, techniques and trends are always evolving.

My specialty is extensions for women seeking to gain hair confidence. I also specialize in blondes and lived-in, low-maintenance, and high-impact color.

Catie McWhirter

Hi, I’m Catie! I’m one of the founders, a master stylist, mom, teacher, and leader.

I specialize in extensions, blonde hair, and haircuts. I’m dedicated to creating custom looks that enhance your natural beauty while maintaining the health of your hair.

My motto is “look good, feel good!”

I’ve been in the hair industry for over 10 years and I’m constantly learning and improving. I’m passionate about sharing my knowledge and passion with others, which is why I opened Tribe salon with my business partner Jessica. We offer classes in extensions, custom color, and salon-specific business strategies.

Outside of the salon, I love spending time with my family and animals. I’m also an avid traveler and exercise enthusiast.

As a client in my chair, you can expect a warm, friendly atmosphere where your hair dreams come to life.

I’m dedicated to your satisfaction and I’m ready to make you feel your absolute best!

A stylist for 20 years and part of Tribe since opening, Kandice specializes in lived-in, low-maintenance color and extensions, including transformations that help clients feel confident through hair loss.

Brooke Korom

With 17 years in the area, Brooke specializes in bridal hair, hand-tied extensions, and color, with a special love for redheads.

Lucy Arnold

Lucy has more than a decade behind the chair and specializes in blondes and extensions. She loves creating transformations that make clients light up.

Ivey Casper Dunagan

Ivey Casper Dunagan

After starting as a makeup artist, Ivey became a stylist and now specializes in low-maintenance color for blondes and brunettes, plus extensions.

Tiffany Payton

With more than 20 years as a master stylist, Tiffany specializes in extensions and custom color. She’s also a proud mom of three.

Athens-raised Melissa specializes in balayage and hand-tied extensions. She loves her Tribe team and spending time with family and friends.

Karla Duke

An Athens native who began styling in 2012, Karla specializes in blondes, lived-in color, and extensions. Outside the salon, she enjoys time with family and farm animals.

Layna joined Tribe as an apprentice in 2020 and grew into a stylist. She specializes in lived-in color and extensions.

After completing Tribe’s apprenticeship, Aly focuses on blondes and Tribe-tied extensions. She loves helping clients feel confident and enhancing their natural beauty.

As a lead apprentice, Makena especially loves blonding and the friendships she builds with clients.

Hannah is Tribe’s lead apprentice and is preparing to move onto the floor. She enjoys lived-in color, blondes, and extensions.

While completing her apprenticeship, Kristen is building her clientele and developing skills in extensions, lived-in color, blondes, and cuts.

At Tribe since 2023, Kaylin is building her skills alongside the salon’s stylists and looks forward to helping clients feel their confident best.

Madison Reese

Madison is growing as an apprentice and enjoys learning new techniques from the Tribe stylists. Outside work, she spends time with her dog Romeo.

Gracie Truelove

Gracie began her apprenticeship in 2023 and grew up around salons. She loves learning from the team and seeing clients leave with confidence.
