Balayage is a technique. Lived-in is a look.
Balayage is a highlighting technique that paints lightener onto selected sections of hair. Lived-in color describes a blended, dimensional result, often with softness near the roots. It can be created with balayage, foils, babylights, teasylights, root blending, or a combination.
You do not need to know which technique to book before talking to us. Tell us what you want to see: brighter ends, a softer grow-out, more contrast, or dimension that feels closer to your natural color. We help choose the approach.
Blonde, brunette, or something in between
Lived-in color is not limited to blonde. A brunette might want subtle ribbons of lightness, while a blonde might want depth restored at the root and through the lengths. Face-framing placement can change how bright the overall result feels without lightening every section.
Bring photos of color you like, along with details of your recent color history. We consider your starting shade, previous services, hair condition, and desired contrast when planning your appointment.

Your investment and maintenance
Your service price depends on your stylist, the work involved, your hair, and whether your appointment includes a haircut or additional services. See our specialty color menu and published starting prices, then contact us if you need help choosing the right booking.
A softer root blend can make grow-out less obvious, but lived-in color still needs care. Your stylist will recommend a schedule for glosses, trims, and brightness refreshes, plus products to support your color between visits.
Planning color with extensions?
If you wear extensions or are considering them, tell us before booking. We can discuss your natural color and extension blend together, including hand-tied extensions or K-tips. Share your existing extension method and hair details so we can help plan the service.
